Itinerary

You will visit Punta Arenas, Fuerte Bulnes, King penguins colony in Tierra del Fuego, Torres del Paine and the glaciers Balmaceda and Serrano.

Day 1

Airport – Punta Arenas city tour

Transfer  Excursion

Reception at the airport and transfer to the city in order to start the city tour and knowing the most important attractions such as; its Main Square, “Cerro la Cruz” lookout, its cemetery, as well as the Interactive ship-museum Nao Victoria , an amazing replica of one of the boats used by the navigator Hernando de Magallanes; in addition to the history, legends, settlers and indigenous adventures. Overnight in Punta Arenas.

Day 2

Tierra del Fuego & King Penguin Park

Breakfast  Navigation  Excursion  Box Lunch

Today early morning you will be transferred to “Tres Puentes” pier in order to board the Ferry “Crux Australis” and cross the Strait of Magellan towards Tierra del Fuego Island. After just over 2 hours of sailing we will arrive at “Bahia Chilota” and from there we will continue to the city of Porvenir. We will visit the square, the coastline, and its small but interesting museum. Afterwards we will start our trip to King Penguin Park located 112 km / 70 mi east the city of Porvenir. The trip takes around 1 hour bordering Bahia Inutil (Useless Bay). The park is a unique sighting place where is possible to observe about 40 individuals of this specie a short distance (20 mts approx.). After 1 hour we will continue our journey watching from the road Estancia Josefina, one of the most important cattle ranches of the island. We also will visit Cerro Sombrero. Finally we will cross the Strait of Magellan again for its narrowest part (Primera Angostura, 20 minutes of sailing only). The return to Punta Arenas is estimated between 21:00 hrs and 22:30 hrs. Overnight in Punta Arenas 

Note: King Penguin Park available from October to March (Tuesday to Sunday)

Day 3

Parque del Estrecho – Puerto Natales

Breakfast  Excursion  Transfer

Today in the morning we will visit the “Park of the Strait of Magellan” Fort Bulnes – Port Famine . The park, located only 60 kms south of Punta Arenas, provides an excellent scenario in which to discover the processes that shaped the landscape, the flora & fauna that inhabits it, and the miles-tones that mark the presence of mankind in Patagonia´s far south. In the afternoon transfer to the bus station in order to take a bus to Puerto Natales. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Puerto Natales. 

Day 4

Torres del Paine National Park

Breakfast  Excursion  Lunch 

Today, we will depart from the hotel very early to start the full day excursion that will take us to the Milodon cave where a giant sloth lived about 12.000 years ago and then to Torres del Paine National Park where we will see the beautiful Torres del Paine range and lakes like Sarmiento, Nordenskjold and Pehoe. A short trek will take us to Salto Grande, a very beautiful waterfall, part of the hydrographic net of the park. Then, returning to the main road we will continue towards Grey lake; you will be able to observe this from the beach. Return to Puerto Natales. Overnight in Puerto Natales. 

Day 5

Balmaceda & Serrano Glaciers Navigation

Breakfast  Navigation  Lunch 

Today we will departure from the hotel to the pier in order to start the navigation to the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers . After 4 hours of navigation we will arrive to Bernardo O´ Higgins National Park, where these two glaciers are. During this journey we will see Sea Lion colonies, cormorants, waterfalls and native forest. Condors will be seen from the boat. Once we get to the park we will see from the boat Balmaceda glacier. Afterwards we will dock at Puerto Toro, from where we will start a short trek towards the Serrano glacier. Return to Puerto Natales. Overnight in Puerto Natales.

Day 6

Puerto Natales – Airport

Breakfast  Transfer 

Today you will be transferred to the bust station in order to take the bus to the airport where you will board your departure flight.
